Q Analyzing the External Environment Cover Page Team 1: Rahma Abdul-Bari, Brevin Beard, Anais Butera, Jessica Gilstrap, Jason Lauchner, Ramon Williams FYI – We provide a lot more instructions and guidance below for this first project, so you’ll have a better idea what we are looking for. We don’t provide as much guidance for future team projects. Take the few extra minutes it takes to read the instructions and guidance carefully. It will save you a lot of time later and improve your grades significantly External Environment Analysis YOU MUST USE THE TEMPLATE PROVIDED BELOW FOR YOUR ANSWERS. Groups who turn in the deliverables with answers that are not in the required templates may receive a grade of zero (0) Assignment Overview: Answer the following prompts inside the boxes of the template below on the assigned industry (See CANVAS for the industry) using resources from class discussions, research sources provided in CANVAS, and research conducted on your own. You may use other internet or library sources, but they should be reputable and objective business news or industry-specific outlets – NOT PODCASTS or POLITICAL OPINION SITES. Once the research is completed, you should summarize your answers in the sections provided at the top. The research section will be checked for completeness (with points deducted if it is not complete and robust), but the summary answers at the top are where you receive the vast majority of points towards your grade. In other words, you must do the research, but you get most of your grade from your analysis and discussion in the summary answers at the top. I am expecting robust answers in your summary for those questions that ask you to “explain” or “defend” your position. Robust usually means at least 2-4 paragraphs of discussion. You should submit your assignment via CANVAS on or before the due date/time. You MUST cite sources of information in APA format (include a reference page at the end of your submission). However, you should number your citations in the text of the paragraphs. The references at the end of the document should be listed numerically, not alphabetically. Please see example document provided in Canvas to see what this looks like. (We are doing this because we don’t have room in each of the boxes for you to provide normal parenthetical citations). If the information is not your own assumption or insight it will need a citation. Be sure to put information in your own words to avoid plagiarism. In other words, information taken from sources should never be verbatim unless it is in quotes and effective business writing keeps quotes to a minimum. Give yourself enough time to submit and make changes prior to the deadline. This is a team assignment. Feel free to divide the work between team members as you see fit, but a designated person or a subset of the group should be responsible for a final read through that checks for consistency and grammar. We will also be taking into account your writing skills including spelling, grammar, syntax, and flow. Feel free to use Grammarly or some other software tool to assist you with your writing if you wish. Focus on the top 4 questions. That’s where you earn most of your points for this assignment. As a result, the synthesis of the research into multi-paragraph, robust answers (Multiple paragraphs) in the top 4 questions is the most important aspect to concentrate on. For this first assignment, we’ve provided a lot of guidance and helpful hints in the answer boxes below. Just delete our guidance when you fill in the bullets in the boxes on the right side of the page (keep the actual little bullets though so we now what question you are answering).
